The Great WellingtonNZ Brick Challenge

If you love LEGO and are up for a challenge check out the Great WellingtonNZ Brick Challenge. Of course if you're a LEGO fan you may already know about it and be building your masterpiece already, however I found out about it via the Stuff article HERE. The article features an entry by Chris Lepper, a working model of the Wellington Cable Car.

Sporcle is an online quiz website. If you haven't already tried it now seems like the ideal time! They have a dedicated kids quiz page which contains quizzes at different school levels and covers everything from books and reading to maths, geography and science.

Coming Soon ... Diary of a Wimpy Kid Lunchtime Activities

The latest in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, The Long Haul, is due out in bookstores on Wednesday, 5th November 2014. 

To help you all prepare for this new addition to the series we'll have Diary of a Wimpy Kid activities in the library at lunchtime on Thursday, 30th October and Tuesday, 4th November. 

Come along and join in the fun!

We'll also be running a competition, or maybe two - check the blog again next week for details.

Quentin Blake & Roald Dahl - Holiday Boredom Busters

The holidays are almost half over already, if you've been a bit bored lately below is a great video of illustrator Quentin Blake who was involved recently in an interactive live webcast. Quentin Blake had a long association with Roald Dahl, illustrating his books, and as you can see in the video he had a lot of fun while he was working on them.
